CytoDyn Inc (OTCQB:CYDY) has announced plans to work with the Mexican National Institutes of Health (NIH) on a trial of leronlimab for severe coronavirus (COVID-19) patients in the country. The initial trial is expected to include about 30 patients, the company said. After that, there is potential for the NIH of Mexico to get involved in the group’s two larger coronavirus trials. “The NIH of Mexico is committed to help alleviate human suffering and mortality of Mexican citizens,” CytoDyn CEO Nader Purhassan said in a statement. “The metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico has a population of approximately 21.5 million people and the contagious nature of COVID-19 is relentless.”
Loop Insights Inc (CVE:MTRX) said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sun Global Broadband (SGB), a super long-range WiFi specialist, to target international tourism and public safety in the State of Hawaii and for the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Summer Games. Under the deal, the two companies will work together to implement Loop products in SGB’s current and future projects in Hawaii, the verticals of which include smart city, hospitality, food and beverage, convenience and retail applications. Capstone Turbine Corporation (NASDAQ:CPST) revealed its microturbine energy system technology has been selected to power a global pharmaceutical facility in Mexico. The firm said DTC Solutions, its exclusive distributor in Mexico, has secured the order for a 600 kilowatt (kW) Signature Series microturbine to a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer which is due to be commissioned in July. Capstone said the natural-gas-powered microturbine will be installed in a 90,000-square-foot facility and serve as a pilot project to show the benefits of microturbine technology in a combined heat and power (CHP) application, with the potential to implement the solution across two additional manufacturing facilities.
